Marketing: 8 Touch-Part 1
Marketing can be viewed as a dance or a courtship, even if someone does not want to dance with you now...if you persist enough they may end up dancing with you. So when you are marketing to some one, you are attempting to court them, but you may not be the only one attempting to do so-you have to stand out for one reason or another, and hopefully its for a good reason! Once they are finally dancing with you, its still important to woo them as there are many wall flowers looking to stretch their legs a bit.
Now that I have confused you, let's talk about why we are even dancing in the first place. Dancing is a metaphor for Marketing and Customer Acquisition in this case. In Real Estate, there is such a thing as an 8 or 33 point touch-a way to touch your potential customers throughout the year. I think the idea of planning and pre-budgeting advertising money for customer acquisition is a very good idea. Let's talk affordable long term marketing and successful customer acquisition! We will cover the 8 Point Touch first, in case we are starting with a minimal budget first and then work our way up to a 33 point touch.
But what goes into a "# Point Touch"...what is that? It is the process of touching your database multiple times a year in various formats and messaging. As far as means of communication, there are two categories: Physical and Electronic
Physical:
Mailers - Events
Electronic:
Email - Social Media - Phone Call
Utilizing the right mix of Physical and Electronic, make a plan to make an 8 point touch by picking from these subjects:
Newsletters - Birthdays - Anniversary - Market Updates - Social Media - Mailers
Quarterly Events:
Winter - Toy Drive
Spring - Spring Cleaning
Summer - Beach Day
Fall - Pumpkin Pie Give Away
Holidays:
1- New Year
2- Valentines Day
3- St Patrick Day
4- Easter
5- Memorial Day
7- Independence Day
10- Halloween
11- Thanksgiving
12- Christmas
Seasons:
Winter - Spring - Summer - Fall
Now that is just skimming the surface on ideas, and you know from Google that there are way more holidays than that. Start to think about what ideas resonate with you best and join me next week as we formulate an 8 point touch!
