Make Your Own: Birthday Meme

Last year, I would say its safe to say that we saw Birthday Memes all the time. You know what I am talking about, the ones that you use your birthday to pick one item and another item and put it into a sentence and hope you end up with a funny phrase. At one point last year I received one and thought it would be cool to make my own.

Using the two above as visual representations, let's delve into how to make your own.

1) Decide your topic
Choose the subject or world your end phrase is going to be about. I chose Borderlands and Astrology. I would suggest sticking with broad subjects people can identify with, or specific subjects like books or video games. Like another one I could of done was Mario Brothers.

2) Pick Your Phrase
Once your topic is decided, decide your end phrase. Like for Astrology, I went with: I am a/an (adjective)(noun)(verb). For Borderlands I went with: In Borderlands, I am a (Class) named (Character).

3) Pick the Number of columns
I imagine you could do more than 3, but I would suggest 2 or 3. You need at least two for birth day and birth month, and I liked a third of being astrological sign. The important thing to note is that for each blank you have you need to have a column for the end user to pick their answer from.

4) Create Your Meme
I used photoshop to create my memes. I liked a relevant but faded background. A Title on top and the phrase on bottom, columns in the center with dividers. Text made big enough to read. Mine are sized 8.5x11, and when I tried to upload it to Instagram, it was a little to big. If you plan on this going to instagram, size accordingly.

One more thing to note, is to work very diligently to remain neutral when doing this. I know when I was doing mine, my phrase came out perfectly and mentally I usually figured out my phrase first. But try to be random and just let them be fun as they are meant to be. I can't wait to see your birthday memes!
