Marketing as an Employee: Ref Letter

Two documents down, one more to go! After we are done with the references, we get to move on to the business card, how fun! Now, as far as references go-we are only going to work on your contacts or superiors at your former companies of employment- which is a good reason to always be nice to your coworkers, you never know who is going to end up being your reference! Family can be a reference, but you only really need one or two members at most.

The components of the References:

Header: already in place from previous blogs

Logo: I like to put the logo of the companies previously worked for and hyperlink them to the website.

Prof Refs: Their names, titles, contact info, and relation to you. Hyperlink anything that can be hyperlinked.

Footer: already in place from previous blogs.

You can also have letters from your reference, but employers would almost always prefer to call fellow companies and talk to them about the employee. It is easy for anyone to write a nice letter about someone they are no longer working with, but employers get more value in having a conversation with previous employers.
