Chapter 2 - Focusing

An interesting opportunity came up as I was figuring out what would be the subject of my "focus" shots, and that was something that most LA residents/devotees talk about doing but hardly do, and that is to go to the Griffith Observatory! So with my ulterior motive in mind, I visited the Observatory after reading about different kinds of focus and what purpose they serve.

I ended up deciding to do examples of Off Center Focus, Moving Focus, and Lock Focus of various Pendulums and Planetary Statues and really enjoyed that my Iphone caught some good detail with it's built in focus already. The sharpening tools in Photoshop were very interesting to use, and while I have not used them before, they are good depending on the picture. I have always thought a good photo did not need too much help after but after using the tools I can see how they serve a purpose. The pictures have been posted to Pinterest.

I took a look at the next chapter and it happens to be about Shooting Modes, as I do not have a DSLR, I will have to skip it for now but I did look through the chapter. It delves into brightness edits in PS, which I will try in conjunction with Ch4's photos which are regarding Exposure. I may end up going back to Knotts for these photos or maybe sending my Mine Craft Zombies out for a photo shoot, not sure yet! Be back next week!
