How To Throw A Party Without Breaking The Bank

Speaking of holidays, celebrating and planning is not only for the business but for the people as well. Can you say holiday party? Or even a birthday party during the holidays? Here is a great party planning guide:

Pre-Party:

Set a budget for your party and when writing it out, think of all potential expenses. Prioritize where you would like to spend most of your money and make sure you get the venue secure. Create your guest list and send out invitations. If you are a social queen, Facebook Events is great for this too! Dollar Tree is great for this, or you can go digital and send them via Email. Plan your entertainment, and incorporate budget friendly options for music like Spotify. Karaoke is great if your party can support it, as well as costumes! You can plan on having someone dress up and pass out goodie bags for the children! Or have the guests exchange gifts amongst themselves. Let's talk food, catering is not bad if your budget supports it, otherwise potlucks work great. Drinks are easy from Costco. For decorations, hit up your local Dollar Tree.

Party:

I would highly suggest co-hosting this party as it not only helps with budget but also with planning and executing. Otherwise, you know what to do here, PARTAY!

After-Party:

Here are some ways to not only say thank you to your guests, but to help with clean up as well. Get food storage containers ahead of time and hand them out to guests to make their own leftovers to take home. By the time everyone is done grabbing stuff, you will have little to nothing to pack up. Any decor or centerpieces can turn into prizes to be raffled off so that not only does the guest have a cool momento, but you are not storing it in your garage. Everyone loves a good photo booth, so set up an area to have guests take photos of either with a camera, phone, or polaroid (Old School I know). This is a great opportunity to create a custom hashtag or make an album on Facebook that everyone can contribute their memory too! Keeping it Old School, a Thank You letter is a nice way to thank them for spending their time with you and letting them know you appreciate them.

This basic guide to party planning is great for not just holiday parties but for any party you are gathering, because honestly as I read this and write this-this is no different than planning a wedding. So go out and party my friends, because now you have the power and organization to do so!
