Holiday Traveling Tips
Let's say you are not partying at home for the holidays but heading out to party elsewhere...here are some tips to keep in mind for your holiday travels this year:
For Those of Us Flying,
Do your Research and be flexible with your travel dates as you look for deals, and keep in mind how busy the airports get around this time of year. Remember there are lots of airports to use. Plan Carefully, as some places being traveled to experience seasons like Winter and snow loves to cause delays. Flying to warmer cities will avoid delays. Pack light as more airlines are charging to check bags, if bringing gifts it is better to send them by mail. Leaving earlier than later is a better option to give yourself enough time to get where your going and avoid traffic. Be sure to stay up date via App or Email about your flight.
Stay Healthy While You Travel,
Besides being the holidays, it's everyone favorite Cold and Flu season. Be sure to stay hydrated by bringing your own bottle of water and refilling it. Some people see germs everywhere, and if you are worried about that, bring your own blanket and pillows to use on the airlines. Bring healthy snacks to munch on and avoid the temptation of not so healthy alternatives. Its a good thing to walk around a bit, especially if you have a long flight.
For Those of Us Driving,
Be sure the vehicle that is to house all those hours of driving is ready to go, give it a tune up. Be sure to know the route you are going, also to have marked it on a map in case your phone map does not work for some reason. Have roadside assistance on hand, like AAA, in case you need it. Store a cell phone charger in the car, as using your phone to navigate or to play some tunes wears on the batteries. Lastly, pack a safety kit for Winter. Things like Ice Scraper, tire chains, jumper cables, flashlights, and a first aid kit.
