Borderlands 3: 360 Degree Product Photography
You thought you liked Moxxi when she stood still? You should see that duck move! This is how I turned it into 360 Degree Product Photography. You will need the product, shadow box, Iphone/DSLR, Rotating Table. If you are using your phone, it is highly suggested you use a holder so your gathering of images is steady. I am going to go over two ways I thought to do this. One ends up in a GIF and one ends in a Video.
You set up your product on the rotating table. In leu of a shadow box, maybe try creating a "green screen" so that your background is very easy to remove. Set the rotating table on slow and photograph the object as it turns around. Do this a couple of times and thumb through your shots. When you can flip through the photos and get the full turn, pick your photos and get them on your computer. Remove the background and turn into a GIF.
Here is the video way. Using the same set up, in a preferably quiet room, take a video on normal mode (trust me I tried the other ways) and video a full rotation. Get the video from your device and to a computer. Make any edits as needed, I would maybe remove the sound and put a cool sound to play with it. Save it and share.
I learned quite a lot doing this experiment, one thing would be to have a rotating table with no mirror reflection. I would like to have it on hand for a purpose it suits, but it was not well suited for this application. Good thing there is Amazon! While the video was generally easier, editing is not as easy and video files are quite heavy and not typically used for this sort of thing. The GIF takes a little bit longer but I love how it came out. One more week of Borderlands to go!
