Borderlands 2: Headshot Photography Comparison: Head vs Body

Last week of Borderlands! This week will be focused on Photography, but also using old school Moxxi, so a throwback to Pre-B3! Using Moxxi, I want to talk about Head shots. When you think Head shots, most think I just have to do my hair and my face. You won't see past my neck right? I don't know the last time you tried to put yourself on a flyer but "Neck Up" head shots are a little odd on most flyers.

So let's rethink the Head Shot. You want to focus on the head yes, but you also want to place the head properly when taking the photo so you need to show some of the shoulders and chest so that placement is more appropriate. Look at the below example:

While this is clearly a head shot and not a full body shot, like below-were you to have a clear background png version of this photo and place it on a flyer, you have some room to play with the placement of the head shot. While we are talking about full body shots, if you are getting new head shots taken, try and get some full body shots. You will never know when you will need it. Have some fun when you do it, make it a different look and pose!

Just a quick word on posing too, everyone has a pose that looks good on them and no two perfect poses are the same. A little bit of movement or angling is good and the right amount or direction for that depends on your body type, background, etc. Moxxi here has a good pose with some movement but mostly straight.

Get more out of your shots and give them more legs to stand on when you are creating marketing material for whatever industry you find yourself in. Need some new ones now that I have you thinking about it? I can help you with that.
