Royalty Free Music
Say your making a video and you just love that song by Bon Jovi-and you know it would go perfectly in your video. The video maker lets you put it in there, YouTube lets you post it, but then when you try to upload that video to Facebook-Facebook wont let you. But why? How? That awesome song from Bon Jovi, well it is owned by Bon Jovi himself (or the studio who works with him) and in all reality, if you want to use that song-you have to ask/pay the studio to be able to use it. But your video is just a little video, so what do you do?
This is when we go to our Royalty Free Music providers. There are plenty of great tracks for every kind of video that people create. A lot of these sites cost money, and while I do agree it is nice to get paid for what you do-realistically we as content creators often have little to no budget and can not (at this time) support our fellow artists by buying their tracks. So we look for Free (price) Royalty Free Music.
Here, in order of most favorite to lease favorite, are some FREE royalty free music sites:
1) Ben Sound
https://www.bensound.com/royalty-free-music
This is my favorite, has been for a long time. I like the variety of music on there, constantly updated, and easy to search for the kind of song.
2) Sound Cloud
https://soundcloud.com/royalty-free-audio-loops
This is a very good choice as well. Very easy to sample the tunes and download your files. This is a mix of free and paid.
3) Purple Planet
https://www.purple-planet.com/
I like this sites style. Good variety, easy listening, and no need for an account to download.
4) Free Stock Music
https://www.free-stock-music.com/
Not a bad option, this will open multiple tabs to get to the end product. But you have free no account downloading in a matter of minutes.
Often times, all these sites ask for is that you give the person or the site credit. If they are doing you a solid and helping you deliver a quality project within budget, please return the favor and give them credit. The reason they ask for credit is that someone may see your video and be like, I love that video and that music was on point-where is it from? Oh it is from Ben Sound, I would like to see what they have!
